Every teacher has different methods in teaching English. Some of them use media in order to make the teaching learning English more interesting. Many children feel bored when they are in the class especially in learning English so that it demands the teacher to think creatively. One of the media in teaching English is by using Blogs. What is blogs? Blogs is a kind of media which contains many kinds of news, research, or stories. Here, the writer will explain the differences of using blogs in teaching English in Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, and Taiwan.
Blogs becomes one of the media in learning English in Indonesia, especially in UPI. There are a lot of techniques of using blogs in the class. The teacher may explain about what blogs is and give the instruction how to make a blogs, or take the class to the multimedia classroom so that they can immediately use it. After make it, the students can write whatever they want to write. The benefits of learning by blogs are to improve the knowledge about using the modern media and improve writing skill’s students. The challenges of using it are how do the students make a blogs and promote it to other people.
In Brazil, they use blogs to learn about the text such as opinion, life and story then to keep interaction between the students and teacher or vice versa. It is useful to stimulate students to write more so that it can improve their creativity. It can be their amazing experience when the teacher gives them some projects related to blogs. The challenges are how to keep interaction high between students and teacher and how to promote interaction in blogs.
Argentina uses blogs to communicate with other people. The teacher uses this media by asking the students to write poems, give comments, and take messages in it so that the other people can read. The challenge of using it to the students is when they are given the join project from the teacher. Then they should develop it. Different from Argentina, the students in Taiwan should make presentation and record it in video. Then put the video into blogs. The teacher will assess it by blogs. The benefit is to enhance their skill and improve the knowledge how to put the video in blogs. It can be the challenge in using professional technology.
